Socrates Asks: What’s More Powerful – Collaboration vs. Competition .gov Spaces

A philosophical question for those who may read this – what is more powerful collaboration or competition in .gov spaces?

I’ve been pondering this all day so your feedback would be much appreciated as I am trying to incorporate this philosophical question into a project. Not my project by project I mean not for profit and larger than I.

What would Adam Smith say? I can’t Google questions like this but I know I am surrounded by some of the smartest people private and public that could assist through this Gordian knot.

My instincts tell me that in the long run if the local government were to compete with the federal government that is more powerful however in the short run collaboration would be more powerful.

If this is an agreeable assumption maybe I should incorporate a clause into this project proposal involving separation after maturity at some phase. Even though this project is geared towards local, the mentors who I have talked to so far have said I would need to take this project to the state level starting so you see problems and how they begin to entangle.

It’s premature to offer details on a project proposal of which I’m still working on but I would appreciate any guidance or mentorship, private messages, and/or public comments below will be greatly appreciated.

Happy Sunday Funday and Enjoying the Beautiful Maryland today!

Sincerely,

Steven M. Heizmann, CPA, CGMA
