How to use LinkedIn for imaging and purposeful creativity provocation.

Sure, if we’re connected, by now you probably noticed that I have maybe visited your site several times since a week ago when we first connected on here. I leave the privacy filter off because I have nothing to hide so why would I hide from you that I visited your site of which you trust personal background information.

So here’s the exercise.

Step 1. Try to pick a sample of profiles/resumes maybe 5 to 10. Make sure they are all different:

some background similar to yours some find interesting some find dull Finally, add some sources for certain variables you find important, like a tag in OneNote/Evernote, and practice memorizing the profiles.

Step two: Review – Re-Do

When you read, go back to review a few days later, only this time, when you are reading the profile intensely and purposefully trying to memorize it, try to intentionally think of ways you can collaborate or work together or what kind of resources or links this contact, company, pictures of both supplied on LinkedIn.

Step three: Final Solidification – Creating a Visual STORYLINE to recall, cue up.

Maybe a month, maybe sooner, re-visit the same profile for a third time for the final testing of memorization at least of the main parts such as collaboration, affiliations or any other metric important to you, such as mutual connections etc. The variables defined for importance and usefulness. This time purposefully and intentionally try to visualize their life as in what this will look like what does it look like in Colorado and form other associations of other pictures based off of what they have in the profile.

By this point the memorization should be pretty grounded as long as you cue it up (the memorized visualizations) if you see the person’s name, their picture on a comment every once a while, or to schedule reminders.

Now we have context & power of authority, as well as the ability to practice some soft skills and emotional intelligence into other exercises built into the fast cross-functional news feeds provided.
